1995-06-20 Red Rocks, Morrison, CO 2 (with DVD)

Worried about effects of high altitude, Pearl Jam decided to open their show seating and playing a set of quiet songs. It was as well a sort of different approach. On seats they played six nice and special songs, amongst them: premiere of heavily revised new version of "Jeremy", later officially called "No Jeremy", absolutely new beautiful and intimate song "Falling Down" never played again neither live, nor in studio, and released in 2011 as 2010 Holiday single, and Nick Cave's cover "Ship Song".

Stone was obviously uncomfortable with his chair, and after "Better Man" he and other guys very quickly got rid of their seats and broke into "Last Exit" and "Spin The Black Circle" with all the anger and passion they could do at altitude. But also they needed to have some rest and did longer pauses between songs and quiet improvisations such as Beatles' tune "I've Just Seen A Face" a-capella. The whole show seemed to be rather quiet, but there was much energy kept inside and pouring out when needed. Ed looked tired and a bit out of breath, but very happy. He interrupted "Rearviewmirror" for a minute when saw a fight in the audience and said: 'What are you guys fighting for? This is a rock and roll concert, peace and love, right?' This show was closed by almost whispering "Indifference", fading in the twinkling lights of candles in the dark. 'Thanks for coming up to the mountain with us' Ed's remark was. This special show is of "must be seen" category.
