1993-11-05 Indio, CA (Shoe the Shoeless)

This is famous "Shoe The Shoeless" show. If you remember the song Fuck Me In My Brain from the 1993 Holiday single, it's from this show. The crowd was unruly and ridiculous even from the warm up performances, throwing shoes to the stage into the artists. The band was upset and angry. After Fuck Me In My Brain Eddie tried to interact with the audience and make a joke of throwing shoes. He licked a shoe and said: "Mmm, your dirt is my fucking food!"  Then he said "Shoe the shoeless! More shoes, shoes for my friend..." After the crowd started to throw shirts Ed demanded some pants and then said: "If anyone throws up a gun I'll shoot you all fuckers!" But after someone shot a shoe right into Ed's head, offended Eddie left the stage. The rest of the show some of the Pearl Jam members, unhappy with continuing shoe throwing, played from behind the stage equipment. After that, would I say that during "Blood" Mike smashed and destroyed his guitar and then played baseball with Ed using the remains of the instrument? Must be seen.
