1995-01-15 Constitution Hall, Washington DC 2

Night 2 of Voters For Choice Benefit, tickets to which had been distributed through a lottery among fans, was another powerful show with Jack Irons on drums. Look, how happy he was (same as the band) playing outro for "Immortality". Niel Young had left the place before the end of Pearl Jam's set, and Pearl Jam was joined by L7 (female rock band) for "Rockin' In The Free World" making this performance absolutely amazing!
This is an audience video.

Set: Release, Go, Last Exit, Tremor Christ, Corduroy, Whipping, Not For You, Dissident, Daughter (Sick O'Pussies), State Of Love And Trust, Satan's Bed, Rearviewmirror, (Act Of Love) Immortality, Black, Blood, Porch, Better Man, Spin The Black Circle, Indifference, Rockin' In The Free World (with L7)

1995-01-14 Constitution Hall, Washington DC 1

Voters For Choice Benefit, night 1 was the first public appearance of Jack Irons on drums as Pearl Jam official member (but he already played with Pearl Jam at Bridge School Benefit a couple of months before). Tickets had been distributed through a lottery among fans and some of them were definitely not happy to see the new drummer. Ed said to them: '...you should all thank Jack Irons, because this band wouldn't be together today if it wasn't for him. He saved the life of this band, so thank him.' The song "Go" was dedicated to Dave Abbruzzese...
The band selected "Act Of Love" from Neil-Jam's upcoming Mirrorball album to be the final song of the show, and Neil Young joined them on stage for lead vocals! Also check very emotional take of "Deep".

This is an audience video, stumbling and faltering from time to time, but audio stream is ok and it's taken from official sound-board. Also sometimes you can see a watermark "15 Jan 1995", but don't be confused - this is definitely late night 1995-01-14 show, and camera clock displays something about 1 or 2 am.

Set: Release, Spin The Black Circle, Last Exit, Tremor Christ, (Wish You Were Here) Corduroy, Not For You, Daughter (Sick O'Pussies), Glorified G, Go, Deep, Black, Rearviewmirror, Immortality, Blood, Indifference, Act of Love (with Neil Young)

1994-04-12 Orpheum Theatre, Boston (with DVD)

Members of the crew wrote the set-list for this show making it one of the most amazing in Pearl Jam live history. Immortality was performed live for the second time and once again with lyrics completely alternative to "normal" album version. Could it be for Curt Kobain?

I could take the sun; I could call the couple anyone
I won't tell the comfort in the world
I can't take it off; I won't say, "Enough, it's not my fault"
I won't care, there's something in the wind
Take me as I am
I don't need this
I die just to live
Immortality...
I could paint the moon; I could reflect light into a room; If I could, the fortune all be there
I could paint it all; I won't say, "Enough, it's not my fault"; I won't call the altar in the air
Take me as is
I don't need this
I die just to live
Immortality...
I can't take a walk; I won't fight this world
I won't save it all; It is not my fault
Take me as is
I don't need this
I die just to live
I won't stay long
I'll be long gone
I die just to live...

1994-04-11 Garden, Boston 2 (with DVD)

This is one of the most remarkable shows for me, for there was the debut of "Immortality", and "Immortality" is my favorite Pearl Jam song. At the Boston Garden "Immortality" was performed with completely different lyrics to its album version, and at the next show at Orpheum Theatre Ed will change lyrics again, leaving only part of the chorus: 'Take me as is, I don't need this, I die just to live... immortality...' Only a couple of days passed since the news of Curt Kobain's suicide had come, and many suggested (and do so now) that "Immortality" was solely dedicated to Curt, that it was a sort of a tombstone for his grave, for eternal memory. Also check plain Dave A. drums beating for the outro of this song, and feel the difference with great Matt-lucky-we've-got-him-Cameron's playing!

"Immortality" was not the only remarkable moment of this great show. Audience support was fantastic, the band was in great form. Mike played very nice altered solo for "Garden", Improv (often called Hold On, but this is not the Pearl Jam "Hold On" song) before Jeremy was lengthy and nice, Eddie performed a drunken version of "Happy Trails" song a-capella with "No-Code-man" Matt Lukin. And in the end of "Rockin' In The Free World" Ed smashed a hole in the stage with the remains of his mic stand.

AVI variant is an audience video of the full show. DVD video is an MTV short broadcast of selected songs with an interviews with Eddie and Jeff.

Set: Release, Rearviewmirror, Whipping, Go, Animal, Dissident, State Of Love And Trust, Breath, Blood, Daughter, Why Go, Improv, Jeremy, Even Flow, Black, Alive, Porch (Tearing), Rats, Immortality, Corduroy, Garden, Leash, Rockin' In The Free World, Happy Trails (Ed with Matt Lukin), Indifference

1994-04-08 Fairfax, VA, "Curt Kobain death show" (with DVD)

This show was preceeded by the news that Curt Kobain from Nirvana was found dead. In the end of the main set Ed said: "We are elevated a little more than usual, either that or I've gotten taller. I don't think it's a very good thing to elevate yourself. I think it would be a very dangerous thing sometimes, whether you like it or not, people elevate you whether you like it or not, and it's very easy to fall. So, I don't want to be the messenger, somebody who delivers bad news, you know, kill the messenger, but I don't think any of us would be in this room if it weren't for Kurt Cobain... 1, 2, 3, 4" And the band broke into "Porch". Very emotional show.
This is good quality audience video, but picture sometimes is out of focus when zoomed very close.

Set: [Release - missing] Go, Animal, Dissident, Why Go, Deep, Jeremy, Daughter (Hey Hey, My My) (American Pie), Even Flow, Breath, State Of Love And Trust, Footsteps, Black, Alive, Porch (Tearing), Rearviewmirror, Corduroy, Not For You, Small Town, Blood, Indifference, Rockin' In The Free World

1993-12-07 Center Arena, Seattle 1

At the first of three Seattle shows closing intense 1993 tour Pearl Jam was bursting with energy. Ed extended "Blood" with lengthy "Don't Touch Me There" Improv. By the end of "Porch" jam Mike suddenly took off his guitar and stage-dived into the crowd. Soon after the band started "Rearviewmirror" a fan quickly ran into the stage from the side and performed one of the most spectacular and high jumps into the audience I've ever seen. The only thing Ed could say was "fucking cool!", and the band immediately stopped the song checking whether this crazy guy dead or alive. Great show! This is an audience video.

Set: Go, Animal, Why Go, Deep, Jeremy, Glorified G, Daughter (Golden Years) (Across the Universe), Even Flow, State Of Love And Trust, Black, Alive, Blood, Improv (Don't Touch Me There), Porch, Rearviewmirror (aborted), Rearviewmirror, Whipping, Garden, Leash, Indifference

1993-11-02 Civic Theatre, San Diego, CA 1

This is a kind of poor quality audience recording with often faltering video stream, but this is all I have. Show itself features great high-to-mid tempo improv, which seems to be almost a full song with verses and Mike's solo. Rare "The Kids Are Alright" is another pearl of this show.

Set: Oceans, Go, Animal, Jeremy, Rearviewmirror, Whipping, Even Flow, Glorified G, Daughter (Shine), State Of Love And Trust, Garden, Alive, Black, Improv, Porch, The Kids Are Alright, Blood, Why Go, Once (Tearing), Sonic Reducer, Indifference

1993-10-30 Event Center Arena, San Jose, CA (with DVD)

Eddie was a sort of quiet for Porch, for Alive, for Sonic Reducer, but at the end of Baba O'Riley he stepped into the crowd with his mic, and, slowly sinking, sang the rest of the song from the deep of the audience! As security finally had drawn him back, his shirt turned to miserable rags.

This is an audience video, multi-camera edited. DVD version is from a different source - single camera video.

1993-09-05 Gorge Amphitheatre, George, WA

The first Pearl Jam show at the gorgeous outdoors venue called Gorge. It started before dusk and ended in darkness, so everyone could enjoy with beautiful sunset away from the city. But it seems that only few could pay attention to such wonderful view, for the crowd was relentless in screaming, singing and surfing on each others heads. In the middle of the show, when it was still some light, Mike started to play a tune from "Yellow Ledbetter", Ed said: "The song is called Daughter", - and the band broke into "Daughter" ending it with "Tonight Is The Night" tag.
This is an audience video, towards the end it falters from time to time, but not too often; sound is good.

Set: Go, Animal, Once, Even Flow, Dissident, Rearviewmirror, Garden, Blood, Jeremy, Why Go, Glorified G, Daughter (Tonight's the Night), Alive, Black, State Of Love And Trust, Porch (Suck You Dry), Sonic Reducer (with Mark Arm), Leash

1993-07-07 Rome, Italy 2 (with DVD)

At Stadio Flaminio Pearl Jam opened up for U2 show. Those who came early before U2 to see the Pearl Jam, seem to be really enjoying with Eddie and his friends. After Even Flow the band played a sort of U2-styled improv. After the end of last song Ed said: "The fly says good-bye", took on Bono's big "Fly" mask and left the stage.

This is an audience video, picture quality is average.
UPDATED (2012-11-23): replaced video, no faltering, DVD added.

1993-07-03 Verona, Italy 2 (with DVD)

In Verona Pearl Jam was the support act for U2 ZooTV show. Though the arena was half empty and those who came early were clearly just waiting for Bono, Eddie had managed to warm up enough people to provide him a "good sea" and performed two spectacular dives into "it" during Porch jam.

This is an audience video, picture quality is low.

1992-04-12 Limelight, New York City, NY (with DVD)

Very hot and passionate show in a small club. NYC crowd was great as ever, it was something like a future Madison Square Garden concert, but of the tiny size. Ed performed his usual stage dive during the "Porch" jam. During "I've Got A Feeling" Ed dragged a guy from the audience onto the stage to sing with him and after a while this guy jumped and dived back into the packed crowd. This show was closed in very unusual and maybe odd or special way - with "Release".

This is an audience video, shot from Mike's side, picture quality average. Thumbnails picture is taken from wmv video, DVD video contains 2 video streams.
UPDATED (2012-11-24): added 2-angle DVD video (center camera and Mike's side camera), new .wmv video is one-angle, now deinterlaced, longer, with more footage from pauses and encore break.

1991-09-30 I-Beam, San Francisco, CA

One of the earlier shows. During "Jeremy" Ed had performed some sort of unsuccessful stage dive and collapsed on to the floor, so he had to be taken out with the help of the crew. Maybe this is why for the "Porch" jam he  scrambled to the ramp above the stage and sang the rest of the song from there.

1992-03-04 Tivoli, Utrecht, Netherlands (with DVD)

Very interesting concert in a small club before dense hot crowd. There was so much stage diving that Ed had to say: "These heads you see up here, they are human." Ed himself did not participate, for he had new tattoo and didn't mean to hurt more his sore leg. During "Sympathy For The Devil" jam he poured water on overheated audience. After Porch jam Mike and Jeff smashed their guitars and, while the band was for the encore break, crowd chanted: "We want more!" And when the band returned, Ed played a sort of another jam at the drum kit instead of Dave A. He did it before "Alone" and after "Leash" he sang half of "Hunger Strike" a-capella.
Grand finale for this memorable concert was an instrumental jam and something like a discoteque on the stage, parodying then popular vogue dance from Madonna's video clip. People from the audience came up to the stage, danced and then dived back, giving room to other dancers. Great show.

This an audience video of the full show. Audio is soundboard (2 streams for DVD version). Video on DVD is stretched, in wmv is ok. DVD includes extras from the soundcheck.

1992-06-26 Roskilde Festival, Denmark

Roskilde had always been unlucky place for Pearl Jam. They were totally exhausted after many dedicated shows they played, after fame suddenly coming over them. Like in 2000, Roskilde-92 was a point to stop, the remaining European tour dates for summer of 1992 had been cancelled. And, like in 2000, it was a show of trouble. Initially it was good, before the crowd of 70000 Ed joked how he was wrong thinking that Roskilde was a small club. But then they had lots of security problems, during "Deep" it came to an open fighting between security and the band crew members, and they even had to interrupt the song to rescue crowd surfing Ed and their tour manager. Later performance was great and powerful but the band was so upset and tired that, no surprise, decided to return home.

The first song is an audience record, but the rest of the show is a professional broadcast video. Picture is good, but video stream stumbles all the time, at some points coming to a slide show. I would never post it if it was not so special in the history of the band. Sound is very good quality mono broadcast.

Ritchie Coliseum, University of Maryland College Park show. During "Porch" jam Ed took off his shirt and joined crowd surfing, maybe supposing to meet lots of young female students. :) For the "Garden" solo Eddie took Mike (with his stellar guitar) atop his shoulders.

This is an audience video of almost full show (last song is not full), VHS sourced, picture quality is good.

1992-05-05 Boulder, Colorado

University of Colorado show, audience video. On Tuesday night Pearl Jam performed lengthy improvisational song "Don't know what to do in Colorado", also check for good take of "I'm Not Crazy". Ed was a sort of quiet, but like a stressed spring ready to burst at any moment. Audience was fantastic, with lots of crowd surfing before the stage.

1992-04-10 Trocadero Club, Philadelphia, PA (with DVD)

An audience video of very energetic club show. Before "Porch" Ed reached to the audience and gave the mic for someone to scream: "1, 2, 3, 4!" During "Porch" jam he scrambled to the balcony and dived into the crowd. During "Leash" a guy in a cloak went out to the stage dancing and Ed finished the song sitting atop his shoulders.

This is an audience one-camera video of the entire show. Audio is audience.

1991-02-11 Hollywood, CA (Mookie Blaylock)

Very good quality audience video of one of the earliest ever shows. Opening for Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam was still under the Mookie Blaylock name then, but seemingly not comfortable about it. Eddie said that next time they might have taken another name, something like Nuclear Love Frogs. Nice short show!

1991-11-14 Tower Records, Yonkers, NY

This is a recording of a small fully acoustic performance at one of the Tower Records stores. Already uploaded 1991 Rockville show was wrongly labelled as 1991-11-14 (these shows got absolutely identical set-lists), but as I recently found out, it was held on 1991-11-09, the mistake is corrected now. Pearl Jam early set-lists are a bit of a mess and 11/09 show is not mentioned on the official Pearl Jam site, but in fact the band played it on the same day before 1991-11-09 Bender Arena, Washington DC. This video is definitely 11/14 and I believe it was held in Yonkers, NY, not in Rockville.

Quality of this video is probaly the best of all available very early shows. Also it includes the band introduction and autograph session scenes after the show (I bet those cassettes and CDs are of really high value nowdays).  Ed began singing with no mic, his hand was bandaged after injury two days before. Acoustic performance is great, small audience is very friendly and interactive.

Mother Love Bone 1989-09-03 Seattle

Mother Love Bone was the band where Stone and Jeff played and had been going to become rock-stars with their upcoming great album called Apple. Sudden death of Andy Wood changed everything and out of Mother Love Bone ashes Pearl Jam band was born. Picture quality is poor but at least it's possible to guess where is Stone, where is Jeff and where is Andy. One song is missing (Gentle Groove).

Set: Captain Hi Top, This Is Shangri La, Come Bite The Apple, Bone China, Heart Shine, Capricorn Sister, Thru Fade Away, Mr. Danny Boy, Half Ass Monkey, Stardog Champion, Holly Roller, Chloe Dancer, Crown Of Thorns
